Business Hours

Telling the estimator when your office is open, so leads that arrive while you can answer them score higher.

Company Settings → General → Business hours sets the days and times your office is open. A lead that arrives while you're open gets 20 extra points in its lead score. It's the last card on the General page, and only owners and admins can open it.

Homeowners never see your hours. They're only used for the score.

Setting your hours

  1. Choose your Time zone.
  2. Tick Open on each day you're open, and set its opening and closing times. Untick a day to mark it Closed.
  3. Click Save.
SettingWhat it does
Time zoneThe clock your hours are read on. Pick the zone of the office that answers your leads. The card won't save without one.
Available 24/7Marks every day Open 24 hours, so every lead counts as arriving during your hours. While it's ticked, the day rows can't be changed.
OpenTicked for a day you're open. A day you tick back on starts at 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Opening and closing timesOne range per day. The closing time has to be after the opening time, or the card shows Closing time must be after opening time and doesn't save.

Nothing counts until you click Save. The first time you open the card, it's filled in with Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and your computer's time zone if it's set to one of the seven zones offered. Some US computers, such as ones set to Detroit or Indianapolis, leave the time zone empty, so pick yours from the list. Those are only suggestions. Until you save, every lead is scored as business hours not set.

What counts as during your hours

A lead is during your hours when the homeowner submits between a day's opening and closing time, on your time zone's clock:

  • The opening minute counts, the closing minute doesn't. With a 5:00 PM close, a lead at 4:59 PM is during your hours and one at 5:00 PM isn't.
  • Daylight saving is handled for you. Hours stay on your local clock all year.
  • Hours can't run past midnight. For a late shift, close at 11:59 PM and open the next day at 12:00 AM.
  • There's one range per day. A lunch break can't be taken out, so set the day from opening to closing.
  • Holidays aren't known. A lead that arrives on a holiday, within that weekday's usual hours, counts as during your hours even if you're closed.
  • There's one time zone per company. If you have offices in more than one zone, pick the one that answers leads.
  • Only the seven US time zones are offered: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Mountain (Arizona), Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii.

Changing your hours later

  • Changes apply from the next lead. A lead's score is worked out once, when the homeowner submits, so leads you already have keep theirs. Saving hours for the first time doesn't rescore leads that arrived while they were not set.
  • Saved hours can't be cleared back to not set. Closing every day marks every new lead outside business hours instead.
  • Unticking Available 24/7 brings your hours back: the week you had just before you ticked it. If the card was already set to 24/7 when you opened it, unticking starts you from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
