Testing Your Estimator
Run an estimate end to end, check it landed, and clean up afterwards.
The fastest way to understand what your homeowners get is to be one. Run an estimate against an address you know and follow it through.
A test estimate is a real estimate. It sends a real notification email if that's set up, and if you have a CRM connected it writes a real contact and starts your real follow-up automations against whatever phone number and email you enter. Use your own details, and pause your automations first if you have them.
1. Submit an estimate
Open your estimator URL and fill it in as a homeowner would, using an address inside your service area. On the way through, check that square footage and year built arrive pre-filled from the property record, that the questions match the systems you actually sell, and that your branding is on every screen.
2. Check what they saw
If you reached pricing, confirm the three options are the equipment and prices you expect, and that the tier names and the bullets under Included with every install read the way you want.
To check prices for other homes and systems without submitting more estimates, use Preview pricing — see Previewing your prices.
If you got a home visit instead, that's still a successful test — see Online Estimate Home Visits to find out which reason applied.
3. Book the appointment
Click through to booking and take a real slot. Check the arrival windows match your availability, then open your booking calendar and confirm the appointment arrived with the homeowner's details and the right technician assigned.
4. Check where it landed
Always:
- Dashboard → Estimates — the lead is listed, and its detail page shows their answers and an Estimate Summary of the options they were shown. Export as PDF downloads the same page for your sales team. Below the summary, Estimate Result & CRM Sync says whether they got prices or a home visit and why, and whether the lead reached your CRM.
If they're set up:
- Your email — the "You have a new estimate lead" notification, with a working View lead button.
- Your CRM — a contact with the estimate link, the estimate summary, the right tags and the consent note, and a Synced badge on the lead.
- Your booking calendar — the appointment, with the estimate link in its notes. With 3C Connect's in-page booking, the lead's Appointment column in Estimates shows the visit too.
Deliberately triggering a home visit
Useful for seeing both outcomes. Use a very large home — around 4,000 sq ft or more usually calculates past 5 tons — or a very small one, or answer "Other / Not sure" when asked which system they'd like.
Cleaning up
- Test estimates — archive or delete them from the Estimates list using the bulk actions. Archived leads stay behind the Archived filter; deleted ones are gone.
- Test appointments — reject or cancel them in your booking calendar so they don't block a real slot.
- Test CRM contacts — remove them in your CRM, along with any automation enrolments they started.
Asking for changes
Some of what you've just seen you control, and some we change for you:
- Yours, in settings — tier names, selling points, prices, equipment, financing offers, testimonials, FAQs, service-area ZIPs, booking URL.
- Yours, in your booking system — visit duration, department, assigned technician.
- Ask us — which fields we write to your CRM, how the follow-up sequences are worded and timed, and the wording on the estimator itself.
