Manage Billing

Updating your card, finding invoices, changing your billing email and switching plans — for companies that pay us by card.

If you pay us by card, everything about your subscription is handled through Company Settings → Billing → Manage billing. It opens a secure billing page run by Stripe, our payment processor — you'll see Powered by Stripe at the bottom — and a link at the top takes you back to your account. If a partner pays for your plan, see Partner Billing instead.

Who can open it

  • Only owners. Admins see "Only a company owner can change the plan or update the payment method." in its place, and members don't see the Billing tab at all.
  • The Update payment method button on a failed-payment warning opens the same page — also for owners only.
  • There's no billing-only role. Someone you make an owner so they can handle billing — a bookkeeper, say — can also delete the company. See Team & Roles before you do it.

What you can do there

  • Update your card.
  • Update your billing details — the email address and postal address on your invoices.
  • See when your plan renews and how much you'll pay.
  • See and download past invoices.
  • Switch plans between Starter and Ultimate, or between monthly and yearly.
  • Cancel your plan — see Canceling Your Plan.

Where are my invoices?

In Manage billing, under your invoice history — they aren't shown in the app itself. On a monthly plan, your first invoice also includes the one-time setup fee.

If you're on Ultimate, your invoices and the billing page may call it Unlimited, its older name. It's the same plan.

Can't find the invoice you need? Email support@instantestimatehq.com.

Which email address is on file?

The billing email starts out as the email address of whoever completed checkout when your company first chose a plan — whether or not they're an owner. To use a different address, such as your bookkeeper's, update your billing details in Manage billing.

Switching plans

Manage billing is the only place to switch — once you've subscribed, the app has no plan picker. You can move between Starter and Ultimate, or between monthly and yearly.

  • There's no setup fee when you switch, in either direction.
  • You'll see what the change costs before you confirm it.
  • Nothing changes in your estimator or dashboard. The Your plan card shows your new plan — refresh the Billing tab if it doesn't straight away.
  • Moving up to Ultimate: its follow-up is set up by our team rather than switched on in the app, so we'll be in touch after you switch.
  • Moving down to Starter: the follow-up we run for you stops.
