Quick Start
Go from your welcome email to a live estimator URL in about 20 minutes.
This walks you through the fastest path from your first sign-in to having a working estimator at your own URL. About 20 minutes if you have your logo and equipment list handy.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- A logo file (PNG or SVG, transparent background works best).
- The equipment lines you sell (brand, tier names, and your install prices).
- An idea of the URL you want — usually your business name (e.g.
yourbusiness.instantestimatehq.com).
1. Set your password
We set up your company account for you, so there's nothing to sign up for. Look for an email titled "Welcome to Instant Estimate HQ — set your password", click Set your password, choose a password and click Get started. Then sign in with your email address and that password.
The link works for an hour. If it's expired, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page and enter the same email address to get a fresh one.
2. Choose a plan
The first time you sign in, you'll land on Choose your plan. Pick Monthly or Yearly, click Choose plan on Starter or Ultimate, and pay on the secure checkout page — it's run by Stripe, our payment processor. Monthly plans include a one-time $499 setup fee; yearly plans don't. Plans & Pricing explains the difference.
When the payment goes through, you're brought back into your account. If you land on Choose your plan again instead, don't pay a second time — wait a few seconds and refresh the page.
- Only owners and admins can choose a plan. Anyone else sees a note asking them to get an owner or admin to do it.
- If a partner pays for your plan, skip this step. If you're shown Choose your plan anyway, don't pay — email support@instantestimatehq.com. See Partner Billing.
3. Claim your estimator URL
In Company Settings → Form Options, set your subdomain. This is the address homeowners visit to use your estimator — for example, yourbusiness.instantestimatehq.com. Pick something short and recognizable. You can change it later, but the old address stops working the moment you do — see Subdomain.
4. Set up your branding
In Company Settings → General, add your business name and upload your logo. This is what homeowners see at the top of your estimator.
5. Configure your equipment and pricing
- Company Settings → Price Book — choose how your prices are worked out, switch off the systems you don't sell, and put a price on every size of the ones you do. A new account has no equipment, so homeowners are offered a home visit instead of prices until you add it. Surcharges for attic, crawlspace and rooftop installs are set here too. See Price Book.
- Company Settings → Form Options — choose which optional questions homeowners are asked and which equipment locations they can pick, add your testimonials, and check the default FAQs and home visit checklist. See Form Options.
- Company Settings → Selling Points — name your three tiers and check the bullets listed under each one. New accounts start with a generic set that makes warranty promises on your behalf. See Selling Points.
Check your work as you go: Preview form, at the top of Form Options, walks through the questions, and Preview pricing, at the top of the Price Book, shows your options and prices for a sample home.
6. Send traffic to your estimator
Your estimator is already live at your URL. The next step is getting homeowners there:
- Add a "Get an Instant Estimate" button on your website that links to your estimator URL.
- Use the URL in ads, email signatures, and your Google Business profile.
- Send it directly to homeowners who call in for pricing.
7. Test it
Visit your estimator URL and submit a real estimate using your own address. Confirm:
- The estimator displays with your branding.
- The lead appears in Estimates in your dashboard.
- You're notified, if lead notification emails are set up for your account.
That's it — you're live.
What's next
- Connect a CRM if you want leads to drop straight into the system you already use — optional.
- Connect your booking platform so homeowners can schedule themselves.
- Invite your team from Company Settings → Members, and check which role each person needs.
