Selling Points
What each card in Selling Points changes for homeowners, which bullets a homeowner gets, and how to check your work before they see it.
Company Settings → Selling Points controls the words on your priced options: what each tier is called, and the bullets listed under Included with every install. Prices, equipment and photos aren't set here — they live in Company Settings → Price Book. Only owners and admins can open it — members don't see the tab.
What each card changes
| Card | What it controls | Where homeowners see it |
|---|---|---|
| Package Tier Names | What your three tiers are called | The badge at the top of each option |
| Shared Selling Points | One list of bullets for every system you sell, and which tiers each bullet shows on | Included with every install, on each option |
| Customize for Specific Systems | A different list, or a different order, for one system's tier | The same place, for homeowners who asked for that system |
On screen the second card is headed Selling points. The third only appears if you sell two or more systems.
Which bullets a homeowner gets
It's worked out one tier at a time, from the system the homeowner asked for:
- If you've customized that tier for that system, they get your customized list, in its own order.
- Otherwise, they get every shared bullet ticked for that tier, in the order of your shared list.
Where they appear
| Your options | The option they chose | Home visit instead of a price | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier names | Yes | Yes | No |
| Selling points | Yes | Yes | No |
Your options is the page with your priced options side by side. The option they chose is the page headed Confirm Your Estimate with a Free Home Visit, which a homeowner reaches after clicking one. The home visit page appears when a home can't be priced online — see Online Estimate Home Visits.
Multi-zone mini-splits are the exception. A homeowner who wants several rooms done sees options labeled by number of zones rather than by tier name, and every option shows the same bullets — see Customize for Specific Systems for which list that is.
Outside your estimator:
- Lead notification emails and your CRM, if you've set them up, list each option by its tier name. Selling points aren't included.
- Your dashboard shows a lead's options with your tier names and bullets in its Estimate Summary, and in the PDF from Export as PDF. The Price Book always says Best, Better and Good.
When changes reach homeowners
Changes are live for anyone who opens your estimator after you save. Nothing is stored with an estimate, so a homeowner who reopens an old results link sees your current tier names and bullets, not the ones they saw the first time. A lead's Estimate Summary in your dashboard works the same way. Lead emails and CRM entries that have already gone out keep the tier names they were sent with.
Saving
Each card saves on its own — change one, click its Save, and the others are untouched. Discard puts the card back to what was last saved. In Customize for specific systems, Save covers the one system you have open.
Unsaved changes are lost without a warning if you leave the page, or if you open a different system in Customize for specific systems. Save each card before you move on.
Checking your work
- Preview homeowner view, under the list in the Selling points card, shows the bullets for any system and tier. It only shows what's saved, and it shows the list opened up — homeowners see it collapsed.
- Preview pricing, at the top of Company Settings → Price Book, opens your options page in a new tab with your tier names and bullets applied. It needs equipment set up for at least one system.
- To see exactly what a homeowner gets, run a test estimate.
The onboarding checklist item
Confirm your selling points on your onboarding checklist opens this page. Nothing ticks it for you — once you've been through the cards, click Mark verified.
Cookie Notice
An optional notice at the top of your estimator that tells homeowners the page uses cookies and asks before their visit is recorded — what it says, when it goes away, and how to turn it on.
Package Tier Names
What your three tier names change for homeowners and in lead summaries, what they don't change, and what a blank name falls back to.
