Cookie Notice

An optional notice at the top of your estimator that tells homeowners the page uses cookies and asks before their visit is recorded — what it says, when it goes away, and how to turn it on.

Your estimator doesn't show a cookie notice unless you switch one on. If your own privacy rules call for one, turn it on in Company Settings → Form Options → Cookie Notice.

Why it matters: visit recording

We record visits to your estimator — clicks, scrolling and page changes, with anything the homeowner types hidden — so we can find and fix problems with the form.

  • Notice off: visits are recorded.
  • Notice on: a visit is only recorded after the homeowner taps Accept. Tapping Decline means it isn't recorded.

Some states require a visitor's consent before their visit is recorded — California does. If you serve homeowners in one of those states, turn the notice on.

What homeowners see

A thin strip above your logo, on every page of your estimator:

We use cookies to analyze site usage. With your permission, we also record your visit, with anything you type hidden, to improve this site.

with Accept and Decline buttons beside it. The strip sits above the page rather than on top of it, so it never covers a question or the Continue button.

Linking your privacy policy

If you've entered a Privacy policy URL in the Branding card on Company Settings → General, the notice adds "See our Privacy Policy", linked to your policy. The link opens in a new tab so the homeowner doesn't lose their place.

Without a privacy policy URL, only the text above shows.

When it goes away

When the homeowner taps Accept or Decline. It stays away for 30 days on that device and browser, then shows again on their next visit.

Turning it on

The switch saves the moment you flip it. Anyone who opens your estimator after that sees the notice.

Checking it

Preview form doesn't show the notice. To see it, open your estimator's own address in a private or incognito window.
