Equipment, Tiers & Prices

The equipment, prices, specs and photos behind your three options, what homeowners see on each one, and what happens when something's missing.

Pick a system from the Equipment list in Company Settings → Price Book and you get three tabs — Best, Better and Good — one for each option homeowners are offered. Every system always has all three. The tabs keep those names even if you've renamed your tiers in Package Tier Names.

What each option needs

  • An equipment name. One name per option, used at every size — you can't give the 2-ton and the 5-ton different model names.
  • A price at every size you sell. Whole-home systems come in 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 and 5 tons. In Calculator mode you enter your Equipment cost; in Flat-rate, the Flat price homeowners pay. See Pricing Mode.
  • Materials, in Calculator mode — one amount for 1.5–2.5 tons and one for 3–5 tons.
  • Specs, if you want them shown. Each is optional, and set per size.
  • A photo — see below.

Save saves all three tabs for that system at once.

What homeowners see

Your three options appear side by side on a computer — top tier on the left — and stacked on a phone, top tier first. The top tier is highlighted with your brand color until the homeowner points at another. From the top, each option shows:

  1. The tier name from Package Tier Names. New accounts start with Premier, Value and Economy.
  2. The photo, or a plain placeholder if there isn't one.
  3. The equipment name.
  4. Spec badges, for any specs you filled in — 16 SEER, 95% AFUE, 56 dB.
  5. The price under From*, or your range, with As low as $X/mo underneath.
  6. Continue, and the Included with every install bullets from Selling Points.

The price is the one for the size the home works out at — see System Sizing.

Which specs each system shows

SystemSEERAFUENoise (dB)
Gas Furnace + AC, Gas Furnace + Heat Pump, Package SystemYesYesYes
AC Only, Electric Heat Pump, Single-Zone Mini SplitYes—Yes
Gas Furnace Only, Oil Furnace—Yes—

On the 80% and 95+% gas systems, an AFUE you leave blank is filled in for you: 80% on 80% systems, and 97%+, 96% and 95% on the Best, Better and Good options of 95+% systems.

When something's missing

SituationWhat the homeowner gets
No equipment at the size their home needsA home visit instead of prices
Calculator mode, equipment cost left at $0That option isn't shown. If no option has a cost at that size, the homeowner gets a home visit
Flat-rate mode, flat price left blankRequest a quote instead of a price for that option
Equipment name left blankAn option with no name — name every option

Leave an option's price blank and it's dropped in Calculator mode, so homeowners see the two you did price. In Flat-rate it shows Request a quote instead of disappearing. Same for hydronic heating and multi-zone mini-splits, where a blank price always hides that option.

Photos

Each option has one photo, used at every size. Click or drag an image onto Add image: PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MB, ideally 800 × 480 px. Photos save the moment you add or remove them — you don't need to click Save.

New accounts start with stock photos for most systems. Mini-splits and hydronic heating have none, and neither does the Best option of Electric Heat Pump.

Reset to defaults

Reset to defaults loads our starter equipment for the system you have open: model names, equipment costs, materials and specs, with your Business Pricing applied. It's useful as a starting point, but it replaces what you've entered.

Reset to defaults also clears that system's flat prices. In Flat-rate mode, every option for that system then shows Request a quote until you enter prices again. Photos aren't touched. On Single-Zone Mini Split, which has no starter equipment, it clears everything.

After a reset, check every name and spec before homeowners see them. The starter AFUE values are stored as decimals, so they show as 0.95 AFUE — retype them as percentages, such as 95%. Hydronic heating and Multi-Zone Mini Split have no Reset to defaults.

Unsaved changes

The dot beside a system turns orange, with an Unsaved badge, while it has changes you haven't saved. Pick another system and you're asked whether to discard them, and your browser warns you if you try to leave the page.
